Cameron recognizes Regents Chairman
Jon R. Stuart with resolution
Cameron University’s Student Government Association and Faculty Senate recognized Jon R. Stuart,
Chairman of The Board of Regents governing The University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and
Rogers State University, with a resolution citing his generous contributions resulting in the planting of more
than 200 trees on the Cameron campus. President Cindy Ross presented the resolution to Chairman Stuart
during the monthly meeting of The Board of Regents.
“On behalf of Cameron’s students, faculty and staff, I want to express our deepest appreciation to
Chairman Stuart for his generous support,” said Ross. “The trees funded by Chairman Stuart’s donation
make beautiful spaces for our students to enjoy nature, whether they’re studying, eating lunch, or just
visiting with friends. Chairman Stuart is profoundly impacting Cameron students now and for countless
future generations.”
Thanks to Stuart’s continuing generosity, a total of 221 Oklahoma Redbuds, Shumard Red Oaks, Lace
Bark Elms and Chinese Pistache trees have been planted, transforming the look and feel of the CU
campus and creating a beautiful environment for student learning and campus life. An additional 46
Shumard Red Oaks are scheduled for planting.
Since 2004, Chairman Stuart has contributed a combined total of $100,000 to Cameron for beautification
and other projects. Cameron acknowledged his generosity with the October 2006 dedication of Stuart
Grove in recognition of the 112 trees that had been planted at that time.
