2014 ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT CEREMONY
SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCE AND HUMAN SERVICES
The 2014 CAROL SCHAEFER HUMAN SERVICES AWARD goes to CYNTHIA
FLORENCIO.
Cynthia is a member of Chi Alpha Epsilon and Phi Alpha honor societies and also served
as vice president of the social work club.
She completed internships at a variety of field placements in order to receive the necessary
credit within the social work program at the following organizations: Community Resource
Council, Shelter Our Sisters, and The Rockland Council on Alcoholism and other Drug
Dependence.
Cynthia has been accepted NYU in their masters in social work program. One day she
hopes to work with females with eating disorders or families and poverty and to eventually
earn her Ph.D.
