Basic Studies Assessment: Social and Behavioral Sciences Basic Studies Information Gathering Survey: Social and Behavioral Sciences The draft learning outcomes used in this survey are based on the learning outcomes developed by the Faculty Senate Basic Studies Committee. This survey was designed to gather information from faculty who are teaching Basic Studies courses for the purposes of: * Comparing expected learning outcomes being developed for categories of Basic Studies with what faculty are trying to achieve in individual Basic Studies courses * Collecting information on types of student work that are already part of Basic Studies courses that can be used for assessment purposes (so that assessing student learning does not impose additional work for students or faculty), and * Discovering additional information that will help to build an assessment plan that aligns with faculty priorities and yields useful information This survey is not an evaluation of you or your teaching The information will be used only to design learning assessment instruments that measure how well we as a university are achieving what we all agree is worth achieving. The data will only be used in aggregate. No individual responses or identifying information will be made public. * 1. Please select the Basic Studies course you teach in the Social and Behavioral Sciences category. If you teach more than one basic studies course in this category, please select one and answer the questions based on the course you selected.
