Learn, Lead, Create, Inspire:
Advocating for Best Practices in the
Classroom
Professional Learning Day
Dr. Clara M. Chu is Chair and Professor in the Department of Library
and Information Studies at The University of North Carolina at
Greensboro. Her research examines the information needs of diverse
communities to shape information policy, technologies and services
that enhance access to information for and by multicultural
communities. As a multilingual Peruvian-born, Chinese Canadian
American, her transnational and ethnic minority experiences shape
her worldview and the distinctive position from which she examines
information issues, learns with students, and informs professional
practice.
She is the President of the Association for Library and Information
Science Education (ALISE) and is a Member of the Governing Board of
the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions
