ANN HARDY, MPA
Mrs. Ann Hardy began her service
as County Manager for Brunswick
County on May 20, 2013. She was
Brunswick County’s Director of
Fiscal Operations since January 3,
2005. Prior to working for
Brunswick County, Mrs. Hardy
was the Assistant Superintendent of
Fiscal Operations for Brunswick
County Schools, the Assistant
Finance Officer for New Hanover
County Schools and practiced in
the field of Public Accounting.
Mrs. Hardy holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from UNC
Wilmington where she received both an academic scholarship and the
Ray Dawson award for graduating MPA student from the UNCWMPA
faculty. She holds a BA in Economics-Management from Salem College.
She attended NC State University for the coursework leading to her
licensure as a Certified Public Accountant. She has received the
Government Finance Officers Award for Excellence in Financial
Reporting from 1997 through 2012, the Government Finance Officers
Award for Meritorious Budget Presentation from 2004 through 2012, the
Association of School Business Officials Certificate of Excellence in
Financial Reporting from 1997 through 2004, the NC State Treasurer
Honorable Mention Award for Governmental Accounting and Financial
Management in 1998 and again in 2004 and the North Carolina State
Board of Education Recognition of Achievement in Financial Resource
Management from 1999 through 2003.
Ann has been married to Steve Hardy for 35 years. They have two adult
children, Ashley and Tyler, both of whom live in Charlotte. Ann and
Steve enjoy traveling to national parks throughout the US and Canada to
hike and enjoy the outdoors.
