Fountain Chief Executive Officer BENCHMARK Project: A Unique Boutique for Creatures Great and Small Address: Brasher Falls, NY Start Date: July 28, 2011 Overview: Wanda Padgett would like to open a retail pet store and pet-grooming boutique on Main Street in Brasher Falls. She is seeking $8,000 from the St. Lawrence County LDC for equipment and inventory. Her boutique will offer foods that are not available at places like Walmart. She will make homemade pet foods and will carry gluten free foods. She does not want to carry any foods made out of the country but produced in the U.S. or locally. The biggest portion of her business will be the grooming. While there are other groomers in the area, there is strong demand for these services. She feels there is enough demand for the service for her to open her business. She will be locating on the first floor of a two-story building on Route 11C, Brasher. She feels with this location that her market capture area should be a 50 mile radius.
