JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Office Manager POSITION INFORMATION: Supervises an office or clinic staff and performs duties similar to those of their subordinates. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: 1. Subordinate Duties. Performs duties similar to those of their subordinates. 2. Supervision. Supervises an office or clinic staff of five or more employees. Selects new personnel, performs office orientation, training and development, conducts performance evaluation, and disciplines employees. Provides authoritative information for the department or unit. 3. Office Operation. Ensures the office or clinic runs smoothly. Establishes and documents procedures and guidelines. Establishes timeframes to ensure functional departmental goals and objectives are met. 4. Work Coordination. Coordinates the work within the office or clinic and with other University units or agencies. 5. Planning. Anticipates need for supplies, space, and personnel staffing. Makes a recommendation regarding such matters. 6. Accounting. Prepares budget and maintains budgetary records. Maintains and processes financial paperwork. Determines if purchases and funding sources are appropriate. Provides financial information on status of accounts. 7. Research. Performs various forms of research, information gathering, problem solving, and interpretation of policies and procedures. 8. Record Maintenance. Maintains confidential records including correspondence and personnel files. Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment. 9. As Needed. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position. REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: 48 months of clerical/ secretarial experience, plus 12 months of supervisory experience Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities/ and Other Characteristics: *Clerical testing is required* 1.
