Roster of GC Grant Recipients Below is a roster of recipients, their home unit, and the title of the globalized class(es). As you can see, colleagues from all disciplines have contributed to UNCW’s efforts to globalize the curriculum. There is abundant variety in the list below. Some faculty created an entirely new class; others modified an already existing class; still others use the “topics” courses in their home department. Some created classes in which the entire content was global; others added a global section to a course that previously focused on the U.S. to use as a comparative point of departure. Some focused on one class; others, on a suite of offerings. Some instructors offered the class first on a trial basis but later submitted the paperwork to include it in the catalog. Some of the proposed courses involved study abroad; others do not. While the focus is primarily undergraduate, some graduate offerings have been added to the curriculum. Some faculty co-created and co-taught of package; others worked alone on developing and teaching the class. To date, 46 grants have been awarded. Nevertheless, the quantitative impact of these grants grows exponentially. For example, in fall 2014 alone, 26 sections of ENG 100, 111, and 200 were taught. In that same semester, 13 sections of INT 105 were taught. And that’s only the beginning of counting student credit hours for the roster below!
