2015 IB WORKSHOPS Phyllis J. Washington College of Education & Human Sciences, U of M Campus August 3 - 5, 2015 Save the Date International Baccalaureate Workshops August 3 - 5th, 2015 - University of Montana These workshops will provide an opportunity for educational leaders, decision makers and practitioners from schools, to come together to share best practices around cultivating the way we educate students. Motivated by the IB mission, these series of workshops will foster partnerships, participation and provide a forum for discussions on educational quality. The International Baccalaureate® (IB) offers many benefits to teachers. IB teachers are given access to: High quality professional development that encourages critical thinking, self-reflection and dedication to lifelong learning and continuous improvement. Innovative and diverse 2015 Workshops include: education frameworks, unit planners, teaching resources and evaluation tools. Theory of Knowledge, IB Diploma Programme (Cat 2) TOK – it is appropriate to high school teachers. No previous courses necessary. Certification and degree Inquiry, (PYP) Primary Years Programme (Cat 3) K-5 teachers in Primary Years Programs. Previous experience and knowledge of IB Programmes is highly recommended. A pedagogy known to produce Continuum, Indigenous Ways of Knowing (Cat 3) K-20 and appropriate to level. Previous experience and knowledge of IB Programmes is highly recommended. * Category 2 - Developing expertise in current IB educators. Workshops look at assessment, teaching and learning methodologies, and best practice in the classroom. They are for educators who have already been teaching their particular IB programme. Participants will be expected to have a good understanding of their programme, as well as practical experience in assessment, so they can share good practices. * Category 3 - Strengthening skills and sharing exceptional practice. Workshops vary in terms of audience. Some are for more experienced educators who want to enhance their professional development portfolios, while others are for all educators – those with and without a great deal of experience. Participants will engage in detailed discussions on topics such as learning theory, pedagogy, assessment, and other scholarly interests. Hosted by: programmes offered by highly respected universities worldwide. students who are motivated to continue inquiry and lifelong l earning, beyond school study.
