They have inspired and challenged me both inside and outside the classroom,” Castle said. “If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.” Click here to read more about Castle and about the NASA program. Victor Gensini Lead Author on Climate Change Research COD Assistant Professor of Meteorology Victor Gensini is the lead author on new research that links climate change to an increase in severe weather activity. The research was published in the scientific journal Climatic Change in January. Gensini and Thomas L. Mote, Professor of Geography at the University of Georgia and department head and researcher for the UGA Climatology Research Lab, used climate models to examine severe weather patterns in the past – tornadoes, large hail and damaging wind – and how these patterns might change in the coming years. “We are very excited that Climate Change accepted our manuscript for publication,” Gensini said. “People are already beginning to take note of the study’s findings, because it demonstrates how severe weather will change in the future.” Read More New American Welding Society Certificate COD is offering a new American Welding Society Certificate that will provide students with the required skills to earn AWS credentials.
