Bombs Away!
Web Developer Pat Moriarty photo bombs his Marketing
and Communications team members during this year’s
Chap-a-Palooza employee picnic. More than 500
employees participated in this year’s events, which
included food, games a 3v3 basketball tourney and four
“Minute-to-Win-It” contests that were entertainingly emceed
by AFT and Regional Centers Manager Andi Liedtke. This
year’s inaugural Fantastic Photo Booth and group shot were

Homecoming 2014! Go Chaps!
The 2014-2015 Chaparral Football season led by Head
Coach Matt Foster starts this Saturday with a home
game vs. Northeast Oklahoma at 1 p.m. in the COD
Stadium. The team will face national junior college
champs Georgia Military at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27,
during COD’s first Homecoming in 40 years!
Homecoming week will include a Pep Rally, Build Your
Pride student contest, Faculty and Staff Spirit Day,
Chappy Olympics for students, with free food and prizes
throughout the week’s festivities. Click here for more

New Distinguished Alumni Award Nominations

College of DuPage Distinguished Alumni Award through

Kudos to…the Divisional Outstanding Part-Time
Faculty Award Winners who were recognized at a
special reception during In-Service last week. Each

from the Foundation for their outstanding service. The

New EthicsPoint Hotline
Each employee at COD shares in the responsibility for
promoting an ethical work environment. To that end, the
College has recently installed a new reporting system
called the COD Ethics Hotline, which is managed by thirdparty vender EthicsPoint. This new system enables
employees to communicate concern in a completely
confidential manner. To access the EthicsPoint
Reporting system, call 1-855-446-5247 or visit
www.cod.ethicspoint.com and choose “File a New
Report.” This contact information is also available on the
COD Employee Portal.
Waterleaf Employee Referral Program
Due to the success and popularity of Waterleaf restaurant,
General Manager Jean Pierre Leroux – in conjunction with
Human Resources – has developed an Employee Referral
Program to assist in the successful staffing of the restaurant.

‘The Girls on Liberty’ Street Free Screening Sept. 2
The COD Nevermore Film Society student club will host a free
screening of Assistant Motion Picture/TV Professor John
Rangel’s latest film, "The Girls on Liberty Street," on Tuesday,
Sept. 2, at 7 p.m. in the MAC’s Playhouse Theatre. Produced by
Parkside Films, "Liberty Street" chronicles a teenage girl on the
verge of leaving for army basic training who spends her last
week at home trying to make sure it will be the same place

Food & Wine Festival Sept. 6
Waterleaf’s Food & Wine
Festival is Saturday, Sept. 6,
from 3 to 6 p.m. in the outdoor
areas adjacent to the
restaurant. The event will
include more than 100 unique
boutique wines from around the
world, as well as live music, food stations, pastries, specialty
pizzas and exclusive gifts for guests. Read more.

For an item to be recommended for purchasing approval to the
Board of Trustees at the Nov. 20, 2014, Board meeting, all
specifications, rationales, requisitions and IT equipment reviews
must be in Purchasing by Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014. Please
