Pure Joy
Celebrating a 15-year collaboration between College of DuPage
and Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region, COD
recently hosted a reception to unveil this year’s photographic
projects featuring Easter Seals clients. The students’ photos
were entered into a juried competition and selected to be
showcased in large format for the exhibit. For more than a
decade, students from the College’s Photography program
under the direction of Professor Terry Vitacco have captured
the daily lives of Easter Seals clients as a semester final project.
Following the opening reception at COD, this year’s images will
be displayed in Easter Seals’ lobby in Villa Park for the next 12
months. “I think the most important thing my students learn by
doing the Easter Seals project is that their photography really
makes a difference,” said Vitacco, who founded the
photography exhibition. “The families who see these portfolios
are also encouraged and heartened that their children can enjoy
life despite their challenges.” Click here for more images and a
Multimedia Services video from the reception.

human given voice and measure against silence."
