CDL Program Celebrates 100th Graduate Naperville resident Stewart Swartz (above) is the 100th graduate of the College’s two-year-old Commercial Driver’s License) program. Over the past two years, College of DuPage’s CDL program has achieved a reputation for excellence, which is reflected in a near-perfect placement rate for all of its graduates. “One month after we opened, recruiters were calling us about our students,” said Cristina Willard, COD Continuing Education Program Development Manager “We’ve done so well so far, and we hope to keep growing.” In a recent letter to the College, Schneider National shared its Commercial Driver Services Scorecard, in which all 25 CDL program graduates from the College received perfect marks. College Fair at COD Oct. 22 College of DuPage, in partnership with District 502 high schools, will host its 31st annual College Fair from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the SSC Atrium. During this free event, nearly 200 colleges from all over the county will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. COD will also host financial aid information sessions. More Kudos to…Former COD Theater student Ron May, artistic director and founder of Stray Cat Theatre in Phoenix, Ariz. Stray Cat received seven 2013 AriZoni Awards, including ones for Best Overall Production for non-contracted theater and Best Director for Ron for his production of “Wolves.” This is the fifth time in six years that a Stray Cat Theatre production took the top prize. Assistant Professor of Nursing Theresa Bucy has received the Nurse Educator Scholarship from the Illinois Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (I-OADN). The annual $2,500 award is for an Associate Degree in Nursing program educator in Illinois who is pursuing a doctorate degree. Wheat Café, Culinary Market Open for Fall The student-run Wheat Café and Culinary Market at College of DuPage are open for fall term. Wheat Café, which has received OpenTable’s Diner’s Choice Winner for Quality Service for three consecutive years, will be open on Wednesdays for dinner and on Thursdays and Fridays for lunch through Dec. 6.
