What Goes Up Must Finally Come Down
A crane tears down the final wall of the west campus M
Building at the end of a month-long removal of the
structure. Constructed as a “temporary” facility in the late
1960s, M Building is the first of three temporary buildings
on west campus slated for demolition over the next year
as the College continues renovation work to revitalize the
Glen Ellyn campus. L Building, which served as COD’s
maintenance building before the opening of the Campus
Maintenance Center earlier this fall, will be demolished
next. Click here to view a step by step pictorial of the
demolition.
Diana Martinez MAC Interim Director
Diana Martinez brings with her a wealth of experience, including
stints at Second City, the Paramount Theatre and Pheasant Run, to
her new role as interim
director of the McAninch Arts
Center at College of DuPage.
Martinez, who started in late
September, said her arrival
comes at an exciting time for
the MAC and the College. The
performing arts facility is
nearing the end of a $35 million renovation project, which includes
creation of the Cleve Carney Art Gallery and revamping of the
MAC’s three performance spaces. “Right now, my goal is to bring
stability in this time of transition and build our audience,” she said.
“There are many opportunities to pursue, and we want to do more
for the students and the community members.” Read More
