Read More Phase II of HSTI Moving Forward College of DuPage is moving forward with plans to expand its training options for area emergency response agencies. The COD Board of Trustees at its Thursday, Oct. 17, meeting unanimously approved architectural and construction management contracts for building Phase II of the Homeland Security Training Institute. “This new facility will address training needs that have been identified as critical and enable COD to continue its vision to serve as a national leader in emergency response instruction,” said College of DuPage President Robert L. COD Hosts Writers Read Nov. 12 Acclaimed authors Liz Whiteacre (left) and Rachel McKibbens will read and discuss their work at College of DuPage on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in SSC 3245. This free event, co-sponsored by the Creative Writing committee, the Liberal Arts department and the Women's Studies Committee at College of DuPage, is part of the "Writers Read" series, which brings authors to COD's campus for readings and discussions. What Goes Up Must Finally Come Down A crane tears down the final wall of the west campus M Building at the end of a month-long removal of the structure. Constructed as a “temporary” facility in the late 1960s, M Building is the first of three temporary buildings on west campus slated for demolition over the next year as the College continues renovation work to revitalize the Glen Ellyn campus. L Building, which served as COD’s maintenance building before the opening of the Campus Maintenance Center earlier this fall, will be demolished next. Diana Martinez MAC Interim Director Diana Martinez brings with her a wealth of experience, including stints at Second City, the Paramount Theatre and Pheasant Run, to her new role as interim director of the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage. Martinez, who started in late September, said her arrival comes at an exciting time for the MAC and the College. The performing arts facility is nearing the end of a $35 million renovation project, which includes creation of the Cleve Carney Art Gallery and revamping of the MAC’s three performance spaces. “Right now, my goal is to bring stability in this time of transition and build our audience,” she said. “There are many opportunities to pursue, and we want to do more for the students and the community members.” Read More Architecture Program Video Students, alumni, faculty and industry professionals discuss careers in architecture and the role the COD Architecture program plays in preparing students for these careers.
