April 1 , 2016 THE CARPENTER CHRONICLES Language: We finished the chapter book Emmaline and the Bunny, and we wrote a book response. Mrs. Carpenter read several “Question-Answer” type books, including: Who’s Nest?, Who’s Egg, Apples and Oranges, etc. We noticed the structure of these books is to give clues (facts) and try to answer the questions. We also read Punctuation Takes a Vacation, and we reviewed all the different kinds of punctuation we use. We 1 worked with a partner and read one “Piggie and Gerald” book together and tallied every time we found different kinds of punctuation. We made the conclusion that Mo Willems likes to use exclamation points a lot! questions that we can use to ask the class and create our own graphs. We also solved a variety of story problems.
