THE CARPENTER CHRONICLES

We finished the chapter
book Emmaline and the
Bunny, and we wrote a
book response. Mrs.
Carpenter read several
“Question-Answer” type
books, including: Who’s
Nest?, Who’s Egg, Apples
and Oranges, etc. We
noticed the structure of
these books is to give clues
(facts) and try to answer the
questions. We also read
Punctuation Takes a
Vacation, and we reviewed
all the different kinds of
punctuation we use. We

worked with a partner and
read one “Piggie and
Gerald” book together and
tallied every time we found
different kinds of
punctuation. We made the
conclusion that Mo
Willems likes to use
