Dear Kindergarten Families,
My name is Jill Wadenstierna and I will be your child’s kindergarten teacher this year!
Kindergarten is a time of new beginnings, making new friends, and learning lots of new
things each and every day. Our days and weeks will be filled with many wonderful
experiences and opportunities for learning and growing (and there will definitely be
some laughter too J).
This will be my seventh year at Scottish Corners and I feel very blessed to work at
such a great school! I taught first grade in 2009-2010 and have taught kindergarten in
room 108 for the past five years. I was hired as Miss Andrews after graduating from
Miami University in December 2008. My husband and I have been married for just over
three years and welcomed a daughter into our family in February. Ruthie is almost six
months old and is such a joy. David and I are also licensed foster parents, although we
do not currently have any children placed with us. My husband teaches eighth grade
math at Dublin Grizzell Middle School and coaches boys cross country at Dublin Jerome
High School. In case you’re wondering, my name is pronounced Wad-in-stir-nuh, but feel
free to tell your child that he or she can just call me Mrs. W. J
I am looking forward to a great school year with you and your child. I believe that a
strong parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Throughout
the year I will communicate with you through email, newsletters posted on my teacher
web page, notes, phone calls, ProgressBook, and parent-teacher conferences. I
encourage you to contact me if you have questions or concerns at any time.
I can’t wait to meet you all on Tuesday, August 25 at Walk-Through. I will be in my
classroom to welcome morning kindergartners and their parents from 2:00-2:30pm and
afternoon students and parents from 2:30-3:00pm. Please plan on staying afterwards
for the PTO Chill Out at 3pm. Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer!

(i.e. Katie instead of Kathryn), please send me an email ASAP so I can put the correct
name on folders and supplies that we will use in the classroom. Thank you!
