Corners. It was great seeing
so many of you! If you were
unable to attend, I would be
happy to send the information
home with your child. Please
send me an email letting me
know that you’d like the
information and I will send the
packet home in your child’s Take
Home Folder next week.

We’ve had a FANTASTIC first full week of
kindergarten in room 108! I have really
enjoyed getting to know the kids so far. I
know that the beginning of kindergarten
can be an emotional time, and I’m so proud
of everyone (yes, parents too!) for being so
brave. We have started to learn our
classroom routines and make new friends.
The kids have jumped into the learning
work that we will be doing this year at
school and they are working hard. The
main focus is “try your best” and I am
proud of the kids for trying things that
may be out of their comfort zones. We
can do hard things! As we work to create
a warm and supportive classroom
atmosphere, I encourage you to discuss the
day’s events with your child. Ask him or
her to tell you two great things that
happened at school each day. Framing
questions in such a positive manner helps
young children to be excited about school.

One quick note: I do check each child’s Take
Home Folder daily for important notes and
information. I do not look inside each child’s
backpack. If there is something inside your child’s
backpack that you would like me to see, please
make note of it in the Take Home Folder or
encourage your child to give it to me directly.
