News From Mrs. Rowe and Mr. Miller
We have had a good week back from break. We have spent some time
getting back into a routine and really diving into some tricky concepts in the
classroom.
Tonight is the district wide dodgeball tournament at Scioto High School
(7pm). A handful of students on our team are competing in this tournament.
Come out to help cheer them on tonight!
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to email us.

non-fiction. This is a tricky concept and we
are taking it slow, one step at a time; however,
students have done a great job this week with
their practice!
In writing workshop we are continuing to think
about argumentative/opinion writing. This
week we looked at how planning out our
reasons and support prior to drafting really
helps us build a stronger argument for our
opinion.
Social Studies
This week in Social Studies, we
started learning about famous
explorers. We did a fun, hands on
activity, where we were
archeologists “digging” for treasure
on a shipwreck to learn more about the explorers
from the ship.
We have done a lot of
practice from the textbook with this
learning.
Word Study
This week in word study we started a new Greek
and Latin root unit over “cracy” and “crat”
(meaning rule of government). The test over this
unit will take place next Wednesday (April 6).
