Hello Parents!
My name is Jennie Merna and I will be teaching your child’s preschool class
this year. I am looking forward to getting back in the classroom and engaging in
great fun and learning with your children! We are located in Room 110 at Daniel
Wright Elementary.
Each year you will have an opportunity to come and see the classroom with
your child before the school year begins. You should have received a letter/email
from Dublin City Schools Google Sign Up earlier this summer. Please be sure to
go online and sign up for a time slot to come to the classroom with your child
on either 8/27/15 or 8/28/15. When you arrive you will be given a short tour of
the room and be introduced to the teachers. Then you will be asked to fill out some
paper work while we engage 1-1 with your child to get baseline assessment data
prior to the beginning of the school year. Please try to attend because this is
valuable time that we get to spend with your child, and important information will
be handed out that pertains to the school year.
The first day of school for preschool is Wednesday, September 2, 2015. The
morning session is from 8:45-11:15 a.m. The afternoon session is from 12:45-3:15 p.m.
Curriculum Night for Daniel Wright Elementary will be on Wednesday, September
16th at 5:30pm.
If your child rides the bus, transportation will contact you directly about pick
up and drop off times. In the event of an absence, children who ride the bus will
need to report their absence to the transportation office in addition to the school
office.
The best way to contact me is thru email: merna_jennie@dublinschools.net.
You may also reach me by: sending a note in your child’s folder, or by calling the
front office and leaving a message with the secretary. The best times to get in
touch with me are before or after school. Please don’t hesitate to contact me,
because I feel that clear parent/teacher communication is vital for a child’s
successful experience in school. I am always happy to help with any questions or
concerns you may have.
Enclosed with this letter is a supply list for the school year. If you are able
to bring these materials when you come in on 8/27 or 8/28 that would be great.
Otherwise, please send them in during the first week of school. Thanks so much!
I’m looking forward to a great year!
Sincerely,
Jennie Merna
