Position Description Position title: Department: Supervisor: Status: Health Services Director Health Education Programming Director Exempt, full-time Position Objective: Provide members of our community (members, staff, visitors, targeted medical markets, media, etc.) with health/wellness services and educational opportunities that support The Marsh’s mission, member retention, membership growth, financial, and strategic goals. Essential Job Functions • Practitioner. Provide stress testing, metabolic assessments, blood profiles and other assessments and tests to serve The Marsh community. • Collaboration. o Collaborate with the programming team to facilitate an integrated approach to wellness for each new member (fitness assessments, programming appointments) o Collaborate with all departments to provide innovative and integrated programming to all the communities we serve. • Program Development. Work with the Health Services team and other programming departments to develop innovative programs that achieve/support The Marsh’s strategic initiatives. • Education. Collaborate and support all departments with their health/wellness educational needs. (CPR, nutritional analysis in the restaurant, Blood Borne Pathogen, CEUs, etc.) • Supervision Duties. Ensure all staffing needs are met and payroll is completed in a timely manner. • Management Responsibilities: Develop and execute health education services’ business plan, including: identifying and targeting new and existing market segments; program development; managing the department’s financial performance and budget; and allocation of resources, projects and programs. • Promotions. Coordinate with marketing and communication staff on copywriting and/or editing for all health services materials including newsletter, marketing materials, website, advertisements, etc. • Communication: Represent the Health Services department at the following meetings: CORE (programming), Department Head, and all other meetings as required. Hold meetings with the Health Services staff to ensure timely flow of communications. Represent The Marsh in Biometrics presentations and in public speaking engagements. Minimum qualifications § Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology. § Five years experience in directing health education services-related programming. § Excellent skills in customer service, written and verbal communication, health education and building relationships within targeted communities. § Warm, empathetic, personable individual. § Flexible individual, comfortable with fast-pace environment and adaptive to changing schedules. § Must have solid supervisory experience with the ability to work well as a team player. § Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. § Experienced in all aspects of creation, placement and tracking ROI of programs, capital expenses, etc. Desired qualifications 1. Five to ten years’ as a practitioner in a health/wellness related field with complementary business skills. 2. Exemplary health education and customer service skills. 3. Analytical ability for budgeting and strategic planning. 4. Relationship building expertise, ability to work well in a team. 5. Able to work some evenings and weekends throughout the year, to include: v New member nights (two/year) v Manager-on-Duty (approx one weekend day/quarter) v Member holiday party v Fall event (Ecology in Motion) v Anniversary Party v Special events as determined 6. Needs to be certified in CPR, maintain current licensure in Certifications for course instruction. 7. Proficient in or willing to be trained in Microsoft programs and internet and website navigation. Work Environment Inside office. Some physical demands if instructing (bending, twisting and lifting over 50 lbs., repetitiously. May include travel to other sites, working both indoors and outside.
