JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: Department: Position Status: Reports To: Date: Corporate Health Promotion Intern Employee Wellness – Program in Exercise Science, Department of Physical Therapy Full-time Temporary (37.5 hours per week) Employee Wellness Coordinator 07/01/2010 A. Position Overview The full-time corporate health promotion intern will be responsible developing, organizing, implementing, and assessing health and wellness programming for Marquette University employees. This position will be responsible for supporting the Employee Wellness program and its Coordinator in the aim of developing a culture of wellness at the University and in promoting healthy lifestyle choices for all employees. B. Essential Functions Develop, promote, deliver, and evaluate health and wellness programming to meet the needs and interests of Marquette employees. Partner with existing campus resources to provide wellness initiatives. Serve as a resource for Marquette University employees. C. Duties and Responsibilities Implement objectives outlined in the Employee Wellness operating plan, including program and initiatives aimed at encouraging physical activity, healthy eating, and preventative health practices Develop, organize, market, implement, and evaluate a specific project, program, or event (to be determined) Assist with aspects of program delivery such as registering participants, reserving facilities, and preparing handouts/materials Market and promote programs through the development of flyers, News Briefs articles, and website content Evaluate programs, analyze outcomes, and summarize results Provide monthly educational information aligned with the National Health Observance Calendar Serve as an employee wellness resource person to campus community Attend Wellness Implementation Committee meetings and others as assigned Assist with entering data and maintaining records when appropriate Perform additional job-related duties as assigned Addendum: The Corporate Health Promotion Intern will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Marquette Center for Health Education & Promotion/Student Health Services in effort to strengthen programmatic initiatives, provide recommendations, and partner with existing initiatives. D. Qualifications A student with senior standing, enrolled in an accredited four-year University who is successfully pursuing a degree in an appropriate discipline (such as Corporate Health Promotion, Wellness, Community Health Education, Public Health, Health Management, Exercise Science/Physiology, or closely related field of study) CHES and/or ACSM certified preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Publisher. Experience with web development is a plus Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills An understanding of Marquette’s mission as a culturally diverse Catholic, Jesuit institution E.
