Dance 334 was not approved for the Historical and Cultural Studies Group. It is too
specialized, narrow in chronology, and lacks a historical methodology (view from a
historical/cultural lens). It is a fairly technical course.
The other groups asked for guidance on various issues (incomplete or missing forms, intent
not reflected in syllabus, and whether a general education course can be broad and
foundational within the discipline. Some of the courses were accepted by the subcommittee,
but will be voted on as a group at the next meeting. All the forms should be ready for a vote
then.
