To: All Faculty From: ASCRC and Graduate Council Date: May 8, 2014 Re: Deadline for Curriculum Proposals The curriculum deadline is Friday, October 3rd, 2014 for the next catalog year (20142015). E-Curr forms must be complete with all electronic approvals by the deadline. All other curriculum forms must be submitted as an electronic WORD file via email tofaculty.senate@mso.umt.edu. The email message should have the department name in the subject line for ease in tracking. All submitted forms must be complete and have the department chair’s signature, as well as signature(s) of the chair(s) of any other affected programs. Paper copies of these forms are not required if all necessary signatures have been scanned and inserted in the electronic copy. Signatures may also be obtained on a paper copy which is submitted in addition to the electronic copy to the Faculty Senate Office, UH 221. The following are up for review this fall: Under Review Form Notes New Courses and Changes to existing courses e-Curr Form All Crosslistings Crosslisting Form All Group III Exemptions Group III Exception Form New General General Education Accessed with the proposer’s NetID. You are responsible for making sure the electronic approvals are complete by the deadline. Any course that wishes to retain a crosslisting All programs currently exempted must reapply (only programs that exceed 48 credits for the major are eligible) Symbolic System courses used as an Education Courses and Form (revised 3/19/14) Existing Symbolic Systems Courses alternative to Language Literary & Artistic Studies / American & European / Indigenous and Global New Writing Courses and Existing Writing Courses in the Professional Schools and Sciences General Education Form (revised 3/19/14) The rolling review took place last spring. The grace period ends this year for courses not submitted or pending follow-up Approved Writing Course Form (revised 5/5/14) or Upper-division Writing Form (revised 2/14) Existing approved writing or upperdivision writing in the major requirement courses in the Professional Schools and Science Minor changes to program such as adding a course to degree requirements Changes such as adding an option. New Service Learning Courses Program Modification Form Level 1 Program Form Level II Regential Form Require preliminary approval by the Provost’s Office (at least one week) of deadline.
