To: All Faculty From: ASCRC and Graduate Council Date: May 7, 2015 Re: Deadline for Curriculum Proposals The curriculum deadline is Friday, October 2nd, 2015 for the next catalog year (20162017). E-Curr forms must be complete with all electronic approvals by the deadline. All other curriculum forms must be submitted as an electronic WORD or PDF file via email to faculty.senate@mso.umt.edu. The email message should have the department name in the subject line for ease in tracking. All submitted forms must be complete and have the department chair’s signature, as well as signature(s) of the chair(s) of any other affected programs. Paper copies of these forms are not required if all necessary signatures have been scanned and inserted in the electronic copy. Signatures may also be obtained on a paper copy which is submitted in addition to the electronic copy to the Faculty Senate Office, UH 221. Please Note the updated labels for the General Education Writing requirement. Group 1: Writing Students must satisfy the following four three requirements in order: 1. 2. 3. Introductory College Writing Composition course WRIT 101 or 201 Intermediate College Writing One approved writing course; Advanced College Writing The upper-division writing requirement for the major. See list. Substantive changes such as establishing a new degree. See list. New Service Learning Courses Level 1 Program Form Accessed with the proposer’s NetID. You are responsible for making sure the electronic approvals are complete by the deadline. An assessment section has been added to the form to help the University comply with NWCCU Accreditation standards. If you need assistance please contact Associate Provost Nathan Lindsay. The four-year review cycle starts again with existing intermediate (formally approved) writing or advanced (formally upper-division) writing in the major requirement courses in the Social Science Please note that revisions to the list of approved electives within major, minor, option, or certificate requirements are editorial and are made during catalog review in the spring.
