Projector
This room is equi pped with an Extron MediaLink system that
allows users to quickly and easily switch between different
sources. The inputs on the switch are clearly indicated and will
correspond to the device you wish to use.
To operate the projector:
1.)
Press the Display ON button on the Extron switch. (The
ON button will blink for 30 seconds while the system
warms up.)
2.)
Select the appropriate video device using the INPUT
buttons on the Extron switch.
3.)
Adjust the VOLUME knob on the Extron switch to reach
the desired level.

To adjust audio settings:
Like video settings, the audio for all devices may be adjusted with the
volume controls on the Extron controller.
To adjust audio settings:
Adjust the VOLUME knob on the Extron controller to reach
the desired level.

1.)
Make sure the MediaLink system system is turned ON.
2.)
Use the “DOC CAM” button on the MediaLink Controler to
turn on the document camera and select the document
camera as the video source.

DOCUMENT CAMERA
To use the document camera:

DVD Player
While this room is not equi pped with a dedicated DVD player, DVDs
can be played through the PC’s DVD drive.
1.)
Make sure the PC and projector are turned ON and select the
computer from the MediaLink controller.
2.)
Insert your DVD into the PC’s DVD drive.
3.)
If video playback software does not automatically open,
launch Windows Media Player from the application menu.

To play a DVD:

To use the computer:
1.)
LOGON to the computer using your UWSP username and password.
2.)
To display the computer’s screen on the projector, press the ON
button on the Extron Controller. After the ON button stops flashing,
press the PC button on the Extron Controller to select the computer as
the audio/video source.
Unlocking a computer:
If the PC’s screen indicates that it has been locked by another user, you can
unlock the system by restarting it. To restart a locked computer:
1.)
Press and hold the POWER button on the computer until it shuts
down (typically, you will need to hold the button for 5 to 10 seconds
before the sequence will begin).
2.)
Press the power button again to restart the PC. When the login screen
appears, enter your UWSP username and password.
NOTE TO USERS:

Please remember to logoff the computer when finished. After 60 minutes of
inactivity, classroom computers will automatically lock, preventing subsequent
users from logging on. If a computer has accidentally been left locked by another
user, please see the section on “Unlocking a Computer” above.
VGA
Laptop Connection
To connect a laptop computer:
1.)
Plug the VGA cable into the VGA port on your laptop and, if available,
plug the 1/8” stereo cable into your laptop’s headphone jack.
If your laptop does not have a VGA port, contact Tech Support for further assistance. Also, some laptops
require proper configuration to utilize an external display. To configure your laptop accordingly, please refer to the
instructions provided by your manufacturer.
2)
Turn on the projector by pressing the Display ON button
on the Extron controller. (See page 2.)
3.)
Use the Laptop button on the Extron controller to select the laptop as
the source.
Connecting to the Internet:
Many classrooms are equi pped with an Ethernet cable allowing for wired internet
access. It is advisable to use a wired connection whenever possible.
Wireless internet connections are also available in most classrooms.
