Shortbull Members Absent/Excused: A. Borgmann, D. Erickson, J. Hirstein, C. Palmer, S. Sprang Ex-officio members Present: S. Ross The meeting was called to order at 12:10 p.m. The 10/13/10 minutes were approved. Communications Both Chair Hirstein and Chair-elect Palmer were absent so Professor Quintero chaired the meeting. Business Items The Social Science consent agenda (below) was approved. The request to crosslist IYFD 510 with MANS 495 is against policy and is being reconsidered. The description for IYFD 520 needs to be revised as well to include repeatability (R-4). Forestry will be submitting course forms to change the status of the three 400 UG courses. The Council briefly discussed the MIS report. It would like to see a listing of current and previous students. It may be helpful to include students involved with the program in the review process. It was questioned whether it was realistic to recommend allocating resources to the program given the current state of the budget. It was suggested that further discussion be postponed until the new Associate Provost of Graduate Studies is hired and a member or members of the review committee can be included. The recommendations for oversight of the MIS should be parallel with the IIP. The IIP Oversight Committee will need to meet again to approve the program language. Members should review the Certificate Guidelines for future discussion The meeting was adjourned at 12:48.
