COMMUNICATION The meeting started with the UM Minute. Raquel will send the Council the link to the Interdisciplinary Collaborative Network website. It is a grassroots effort of graduate students doing interdisciplinary work in the fields of forestry, systems ecology, and biology. They are interested in bringing in students from other fields to network and offer collaborative seminars. Professor McGirl is coordinating a STEM Fellowship web interview on November 18th from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Students interested in attending should contact her. BUSINESS ITEMS The Professional Schools Curriculum Consent Agenda appended below was approved. There was some discussion regarding the level I Masters in Early Childhood Education. There is support for this at the state level. It is an important area to invest in considering Montana is one of a few states that does not provide for preschool education. The following curriculum follow-up items from Social Science were approved. Members should also view the University’s graduate education goals in the Strategic Plan. With the exception of Physical Therapy enrollment in graduate programs has declined.
