Prerequisite Revision Review
I. Summary of Prerequisite Revision
Dept / Program
Sociology
SOCI 443
Prefix & Course #
Course Title
Sociology of Poverty
Has the Department gone through common course review?
XYes □No □In process
If Yes or In Process please use new rubric / numbers.
Rationale 
This course is taken by many students outside the Sociology major. If they have the requisite social science
background in another field, we want to encourage their participation in the course. I have also made a minor
change in the course description, changing “the poor” to “poverty” to better reflect course content and correct
grammar.
