Please explain/justify the new proposal or change.  The Forensic Anthropology Option is a
continuing victim of its own success. The bottleneck is the lab/field methods course
requirement. We simply have more students than can be accommodated by the
existing lab and field classes in physical anthropology and are therefore forced to make
substitutions so that students can graduate. This problem is made more severe by
Noriko Seguchi’s departure because she taught one of the three named courses for this
requirement (ANTY 416). This has a detrimental effect on the students in the option in
that our best students should take more than one lab/field methods course (e.g. ANTY
412 and 413) but the heavy demand for these courses makes this difficult to
accomodate.
V Copies and Electronic Submission
Once approved, the original, a paper copy and an electronic file are submitted to the Faculty Senate
