Classified Staff Advisory Council
The Classified Staff Advisory Council (CSAC) serves on behalf of all represented
and non-represented classified staff employees, limited term employees, and
project employees at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
The purpose of CSAC is to promote active participation in university decisionmaking, informed communication, and a positive professional environment for
all classified employees. The organization supports equality, respect, and a spirit
of collegiality among all members of the university community, including staff,
faculty, and students. There are 13 members of CSAC, each serving a two-year
term. Members are selected by a classified staff election. Any classified staff
employee (as defined above) is eligible to become a member of CSAC.
CSAC meetings are held monthly and are open to all classified employees. If
you have any concerns and/or comments you would like addressed at a CSAC
meeting, contact a CSAC member with your request.
Mentor Program
The Classified Staff Advisory Council offers a mentor for new UW-Stevens Point
classified staff employees. 2012-2013 classified staff mentors are Jean Scherer
from the Chancellor’s Office (715-346-3963, jscherer@uwsp.edu), and Connie
Anderson from the Counseling Center and Testing Services (715-346-3553,
canderso@uwsp.edu). Please feel free to contact either Jean or Connie with
any questions you may have about campus, policies, procedures, etc. They will
be happy to help by phone, email or a personal visit.

Opportunities for Participation
CSAC offers various programs for classified staff including brown bag lunch
programs, tours of various campus areas, workshops, etc. Watch Campus

CSAC Awards
Outstanding Work Performance Award
This award recognizes performance far beyond what is normally expected
of an employee. It includes taking on additional responsibilities, increased
workload or special projects that are not part of the employee’s normal
work duties, developing or modifying procedures, or exhibiting behavior that
enhances the employee’s workplace.
University Service Award
This award recognizes time and effort voluntarily given to the university
community that are not considered part of the normal work assignment and
may include being involved on a university committee, providing assistance to
staff, students, or a campus organization, etc.
Carolyn Rolfson Sargis Award
This award recognizes an outstanding classified UWSP employee who has at
least 25 years of UWSP service and throughout their career, has contributed
in such a manner to have significantly demonstrated positive benefits or
support to their department or the university community, regularly exemplifies
professionalism in their working relationships and contacts within and outside of
the university, and shows a commitment to personal growth and to the goals
and objectives of their departments.
