Time Requirement: 40+ hours per week
Generally 5 days a week, 8-10 hour days. Possibly weekend work may be
available. Two field office locations- New Berlin and Grafton WI.
Duties:
Plant Health Care Technician: Work independently to complete and organized
assigned tasks throughout the plant health care season. Become proficient and
familiar with all aspects of plant health care including but not limited to foliar sprays,
soil injections, air spade, trunk injections, mixing and calibrating. You will need a
good understanding of plant pathology, how diseases work and what solutions are
available, and communicate to others. During the winter months you must be willing
to work on a tree crew as needed and snow removal when necessary.
Qualifications:
Valid drivers license, currently enrolled in or graduated from tech or university
program in Arboriculture or Urban Forestry, basic understanding of common plant
health care equipment, knowledge of spray tanks, mixing chemicals, ability to work
well with others, safety conscience, good communication skills, and positive
attitude.
Advanced suggestions:
Tree climbing skills, Certified arborist, CTSP, CDL, volunteer efforts, WI pesticide
applicators license, advanced climbing and rigging techniques, Aerial lift and loader
experience.
