Associated Press 04-02-06 Bones found at Iowa State will be examined AMES, Iowa (AP) -- Officials at Iowa State University have reversed a decision on the scientific value of some animal bones found on campus. Earlier this month, officials said the bones that were found during construction for an expansion of the Memorial Union had no significance. But opinions started to differ as word got out about the discovery, and now archaeological analysis of the bones will be conducted. Matthew Hill, an assistant professor in anthropology at Iowa State, said researchers want to look at how animals were studied and disposed of at the nation's first veterinary hospital.
