6th Grade Language Arts Reading Challenge-2nd Quarter
Once again this nine weeks students will be required to read four books of their choice for
Language Arts class for a grade. After reading each book, students are required to write a short
summary about that book. A summary is a brief statement of the main points of the text. Students
need to turn summaries into Mrs. Mason in order to earn credit for reading the book. Summaries
should be a minimum of five sentences long. Once summaries are graded, students will write their
name and the title of the book on a book cut out to hang in the hall. The class with the most books
read at the end of quarter will win a reward.
