COE ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE MEETING
October 15, 2012
MINUTES
Attendance: P. Lutz, D. Lynch, J. McCarthy, T. Sychterz and P. Walsh Coates.
Announcement:
The Special Education 7-12 program was approved by PDE.
Discussion:
Kutztown Disposition Review Request form: No changes.
Actions/Consequences for Official Dispositions Report:
A discussion was held and the following should be changed on the form.
Two or Three Infractions:




Before the letter the candidate should meet with the Chair of the Department.
The student should schedule the meeting.
Guidelines for students…”How do I make this right?”
Students will only have 14 days to write the reflective piece instead of 21.
Four or More Infractions:



Add no letter under four or more.
Ad hoc Committee will be (1) representative from the Dean’s Office, (1 or 2) representatives
from the Assessment Committee (rotate), Chair(s). The committee needs to be an odd number
for voting.
The final decision will go to the Council for Teacher Education.
Student Disposition Review Process:



Remove faculty member there.
Faculty will get a follow up of the meeting.
Replace the word advisor with advocate (faculty, staff or student) no parents in this meeting.
Possible Outcomes:

Under possible outcomes delete B and then list dispositional probation then 1, 2 and 3.
Please share the Action & Review form with your department at your next department meeting.
Our next meeting will be November 12 at 8:00 a.m. in Beekey 221.
