Masters Degree in Library Science, Instructional Technology, Education, Educational Leadership, or closely related field preferred. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills Good technology skills Understanding of the changing role and scope of the college library Commitment to the community college mission Strong record of collaboration with others General knowledge of audiovisual equipment Ability to assess library needs of courses and students and propose ways to meet those needs Knowledge of relevant research databases SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises all learning resource center employees, including recommendation for hiring, training, assigning work, and recommending terminations. JOB PURPOSE: Administer Learning Research Center DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Administer and assume responsibility for all daily operations of the Learning Resource Center (LRC). 2. Use innovative technological methods in order to create a 21st century learning space within the library and host events to increase the foot traffic in the LRC. 3. Prepare material for consideration by the Dean of Instruction as a basis for FSCC policy in all aspects of LRC, such as budgets, personnel recommendations, services, and library happenings on campus and in the community. 4. Supervise all library personnel in accordance with FSCC personnel policies. 5. Supervise and coordinate services and collections of the LRC, including electronic resources. 6. Actively seek, maintain and expedite financial concerns of the LRC as approved by the Board of Trustees. 7. Approve and designate invoices for payment before warrants are written. 8. Plan and direct an active continuing public relations program. 9. Provide library instruction for courses and students on demand. 10. Serve on committees as needed. 11. Provide assistance with testing. 12. Assume other responsibilities on assignment.
