English Language Arts
• A comprehensive English language arts (ELA) program that
systematically addresses all four core strands of ELA –
READING, WRITING, SPEAKING, LISTENING, AND
LANGUAGE
• Will enable students to develop key college and careerreadiness skills
• Will prepare students for the rigor of Common Core
standardized tests:

Criterion Online Writing Evaluation:
•Web-based program that evaluates a student's writing skills
• Within seconds it provides scored reporting and diagnostic
feedback to both writing instructors and students.
•Essays are drafted and submitted. Students receive a
holistic score with problem-solving annotations right in the
text

***Each assignment will be weighed
individually.*** Assessments will be varied and
will include formal tests, individual & group
projects, oral presentations, work portfolios, and
writing samples. District Standards are as follows:
A= 90-100, B = 80-89, C = 70-79, D = 60-69, etc.
