This Friday, February 23rd, from 11 a.m. to noon, the Program Review Committee wants to meet with us to: 1) Review our basic data; 2) Review our project proposals and ask questions and clarifications; and 3) Generate a draft of a timeline for your second and third year of working on our project Yes, it’s a Friday, but we need significant representation from the DE Committee at that meeting. Please plan to attend. I’m expecting some more information about our online students from Institutional Research soon, and may have that to share with all of you on Friday. Online Course Proposal Update: To date, we’ve received 17 proposals from fast track instructors and 30 proposals from new instructors. Ten of these appear to be for future semesters. These proposals encompass all divisions, and include the first forays into online teaching for Fire Technology, Physics, Real Estate, Ecology, Ethnic Studies, Geography, ECD, Mass Communications, Political Science, Spanish, Humanities, and Math. There is also a PACE English course. Last year, we reviewed 18 proposals. Last semester, we reviewed 18 proposals. This semester, we review 47 proposals. No wonder we’re so stressed! Friendly Reminders: Complete written proposal reviews by 3/6 Complete BOLT fast track instructor reviews by 3/6 Next DE Committee meeting is 3/6 Joint meeting with LPC’s DE Committee at District Office on 3/30 at 9:30 a.m. Evaluation of online courses will be piloted this semester; look for news of evaluator training and tell your colleagues this is underway We are not alone!
