REPORTS
PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Mrs. Johnston stated that board meetings will begin to feature an opportunity to
recognize students and/or programs.
Robert Goltra presented the student services program review. He highlighted an in-house scholarship application
and the department's focus on texting, stating that they strive for two live responses to each student application.
Early alert continues to help students be successfully enrolled and participating in classes.
Julie Eichenberger reported that financial aid was dispersed on October 9. The audit went well and a report is
expected sometime next month. Deferred maintenance of facilities is starting to be addressed, and specifications for
the request for proposals for the roof of Arnold Arena are being prepared.
Regena Lance reported that policies are being developed for credit for prior learning and reverse transfer. FSCC
will host a meeting of 30 concurrent credit providers on October 20. Career and Technical Education programs will
have advisory board meetings in the next few weeks, and the spring schedule will be released soon. Math relays
brought 396 students to campus. Careers in Construction week will be October 27, 28, and 29.
Alysia Johnston thanked the board for attending the strategic planning in-service meeting. She added that board
members are welcome to add to the list of ideas compiled at the meeting. The target is to narrow the list down in
January and then be able to create measurable goals. Reports will be provided to the board on the status of those
goals regularly. Public Relations will put together a fast-facts pamphlet to illustrate the purpose of operating outside
Bourbon County. Officials from Moran toured the Crawford County Tech building. FSCC will continue to explore
the possibility of working with Moran for a tech building in Allen County but the arrangement needs to be
something that will work for everyone. Trane will be putting in a simulator at the Crawford County Tech building.
FSCC will be able to offer Trane and Snap-on certifications.
Endowment recently had a well-received luncheon with Chester Boileau. The Endowment dinner will be held on
November 5 at 6 pm.
Alysia and the Board thanked Carolyn Sinn for her return and commitment to FSCC in recent months, not to
mention all the other times she has been an asset to the college. Attendees enjoyed cake in honor of Carolyn.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the Trustees, a motion to adjourn and meet at
the Burke Street Campus for a tour with no action to follow was made at 6:15 p.m. by Meyer, seconded by Hill, and
carried by unanimous vote.
