Web Page Design
The time has come when people need their own Home Page and Web site. Students especially need a Web
site so they can record important information and showcase their talents to prospective employers. There
are no firm rules as to what goes into a personal Web site, it’s a personal thing. But the look and feel of the
first page, the Home Page, says a lot about the owner.
Your task this week is to design a layout that would be suitable for use as your Home Page. In creating a
design for your Home Page you need to decide how you want it to look. You need to decide the information
and images you will present on the first page and how you will provide access to the information underneath.

Dreamweaver ® MX 2004
The Document window displays the current
document as you create and edit it.
This Activity will take you through the steps of how to
create a basic webpage using Dreamweaver MX 2004.
The Property inspector lets you view and change
a variety of properties for the selected object or
text. Each kind of object has different properties.
Before You Begin
Before you start using Dreamweaver MX 2004, you
should become familiar with its features. On the
Macintosh, Dreamweaver provides a floating workspace
layout, in which each document is in its own individual
window. Panel groups are initially docked together, but
can be undocked into their own windows.
Panel groups are sets of related panels grouped
together under one heading. To expand a panel
group, click the expander arrow at the left of the
group's name; to undock a panel group, drag the
gripper at the left edge of the group's title bar. 1.
