Majors in Minutes Spotlight Tonight!!
Join the Office of Academic Advising for the brand new Majors in Minutes Spotlight
event, a spinoff of the fall event, Majors in Minutes. The spotlight event is featuring
the top six majors that students requested more information on:
•Communications
•Public Relations
•Communication Disorders
•Interactive Digital Studies
•Family Services
•Health Promotion
These 40 minute sessions will expand upon what students heard at the Majors in
Minutes event last fall. There will be representatives from each major that include
recent alumni, current juniors and seniors with practical
experience or internships, and student organization
representatives.
There are two sessions tonight, March 8, from 6:30-7:10 p.m.
or 7:20-8:00 p.m. in the downstairs Maucker Union meeting
rooms. Students are encouraged to attend one or both
sessions! Popcorn and drinks will be provided!

Staying Motivated at Mid-Semester
It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through the Spring
semester! Students, Faculty, and Staff alike are probably
feeling the stress of the semester bearing down on them and
sometimes it feels like a break is never going to get here. Here
are a few easy tips that can help all of us be the most
productive and help us be successful the rest of the semester!
1. Set Small Goals
Focus on progress to keep motivation from dwindling! Create small steps in larger projects to help you focus on reaching the finish line. And be sure to reward yourself when you accomplish a step!
2. Organize your Time
Plan out your week ahead of time (as best as you can at least). This helps you stay on track and keep from feeling overwhelmed. It also helps you assess if you have too much on your plate and if your day-to-day life is too chaotic. And don’t forget to schedule time for fun activities as well! A healthy balance of work and play keeps mental health wellbeing easier!
3. Be Realistic but Always Strive for Improvement
Study
Abroad happens overnight or comes easily. You must work toward it and be Nothing
patient. Never underestimate your potential for self-improvement. Even if it will take hard work, it will be worth it!
4. Find Inspiration
Your hard work will pay off in the end! Get those creative juices flowing whether it’s a daily affirmation, using inspirational quotes, surfing
Pinterest, hanging out with friends, or reading a good book. Find what
motivates and satisfies you!
5. Find a Support Group
Friends and family that support your goals can make the difference. Be active on campus can help you find motivation to keep going on mundane or difficult tasks. Join a study group or an exercise class. Support from
others cheering you on can help you accomplish your goals!
6. Believe in Yourself!
Always work to be the best you can
be and never give up on goals that are truly important to you! Success is about
the right attitude. If you believe in yourself, others will too!
Good luck on reaching all your goals this
semester! For more motivational help,

wonderful Spring Break!
