ELEMENTARY COMPUTER KEYBOARDING I
Catalog Description:
72A – Elementary Computer Keyboarding I
(May be repeated 1 time.)
1 unit
Self-paced basic introduction to the computer keyboard for developing correct keyboarding skills.
3 hours laboratory.
[Typical contact hours: 52.5]
Prerequisite Skills:
None
Expected Outcomes for Students:
Upon completion of the course the student should be able to:

demonstrate correct fingering techniques when typing alpha characters, numbers, and symbols;
demonstrate correct posture while keyboarding;
describe the basic parts and functions of the computer keyboard;
keyboard two-minute timings at a speed of at least 25 words per minute with 3 errors or less.
