[Typical contact hours: lecture 35, studio 70] Expected Outcome for Students: Upon completion of the course, the student should: 1. 2. develop adeptness in eye and hand coordination in order to experience how to design figures in composition; have developed an ability to see and draw three-dimensional form, the versatile of which is the human form; Course Content: 1. Contour and gesture: pencil-charcoal 2. Understanding the source of movement: pencil-charcoal 3. Weight and modeled drawing: charcoal block 4. Memory drawing: charcoal-pencil 5. Modeled drawing: ink 6. Modeled drawing: ink wash or black watercolor 7. The head-contour: pencil, ink 8. Isolated studies of the form: charcoal 9. Modeled drawing – back to the model: ink 10. Proportion: ink, charcoal, pencil 11. Drapery study: charcoal, watercolor, oil 12. Sustained study – one pose: charcoal Methods of Presentation: 1. Studio presentation of lecture 2.
