FIGURE AND COMPOSITION IV

Catalog Description:

3D - Figure and Composition IV 3 units

Development of knowledge and skills introduced in Art 3C. Drawing the figure with charcoal, conte, graphite, ink, watercolor, pastels, tempera and oils with emphasis on composition and color.

Prerequisite: Art 3C (completed with a grade of C or higher). 2 hours lecture, 4 hours studio.

[Typical contact hours: lecture 35, studio 70]

Expected Outcomes for Students:

Upon completion of the course, the student should:

1. develop adeptness in eye and hand coordination in order to experience how to design

2. figures in composition; have developed an ability to see and draw three-dimensional form, the most versatile of which is the human figure.
