March 12, 2009 12 Noon, Room 1506 In attendance: See attached sheets Project Status Update Doug Horner reviewed status of all open/active projects currently under bid or in construction. Highlights included: IOB-schedule is currently “slipping”, August ’09 completion date in doubt. Construction Manager is looking for ways to catch up to schedule. Villas are currently under contract to District through Dec. ’09 and could be occupied for longer if needed. Marcia C. requested information on Patio furniture. She was referred to documents. 4100-Construction starts this summer. Primary issue is field access during construction. This will need to be addressed by athletics at time of construction. 1400/1600-Michael A. questioned whether the FPP on 1600 would be affected by its association with 1400 project, and whether this would affect 1400 construction. Doug H. indicated there would be NO impacts relative to this. Solar project-Roger N. questioned whether the impacts of the delays in the Solar project have looked at Parking Lot G impacts. This needs to be looked at relative to how much of G is offline. Doug H. indicated G would not go offline in any way until the completion and opening of J. 100-Dave F. questioned about the status of FPP for bldg. 100. Doug H. indicated user group had thrown this back to campus, with recommendation of evaluating 100 in either a new or updated master plan. Phase III projects all in pre-bid-no architects yet selected, user groups have yet to be formed. Doug H. said that the decision of whether to build a new library and where it would be located would be made by the campus at some point. Other Matters Initiated A. Campus Standard – Trash/Recycle Bin Trash Recycle Bins-Tim Nelson presented a new recycle bin as a potential campus standard. One is currently being used outside of Bldg. 200. Feedback was requested. Committee was positive in general towards its appearance and functionality. B. User Group Analysis of Faculty Office Renovations Faculty Office Renovations (1100/1500/2000)-Dave Fouquet addressed concerns over the remodel of these buildings and the relative merit of same due to the lack of conformance to College standard. Dale W. indicated 2600 had similar issues and concerns. This generated a larger discussion as to whether or not a new or updated Master Plan should be considered relative to some of the changes that have occurred from the original C. Discussion of Campus Master Plan / Education Plan Marcia requested that this item be rescheduled to our next meeting so that she could participate. D. Other Matters G. Watt expressed concern over FFE standards and costs relative to unknowns due to computer vendor and standards changes. This needs to be followed through on once a vendor is selected. Security Signs-Much discussion as to poor wording and intrusive nature of new security signs on emergency exits for after hours.
