The Global Energy Perspectives program is a 20-day study abroad program that travels to London, Paris, Munich, and Vienna focusing on global perspectives with regards to history of energy development, energy policy, energy security, and geopolitics. COURSE OFFERED: ENCO 4325 - Global Energy Perspectives London Highlights Include: • Guided bus tour of London on a double-decker bus • Guided canal tour whereby coal was transported • Visit to the Camden Locks market • Tour of Churchill War Rooms, Imperial War Museum, and London Transport Museum • Free time in London to visit sites of interest including Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral, British Museum, Westminster Abbey, Hyde Park, Big Ben, Parliament, the Victoria and Albert Museum Paris Highlights Include: • Visit to the International Energy Agency or the Nuclear Energy Agency • Visit to either the Nuclear Power Plant in Nogent Sur Seine or the Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety • Free time to explore Paris including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees, the West Bank and the Louvre Munich Highlights Include: • Visit to Dachau • Third Reich Walking Tour: Reflections on the Nazi party and Hitler’s rise to power. • Free day in Munich to explore historic sites: The Enghlish Garden, German Beer Gardens/Halls, or Eagle’s Nest. • Guest lecture on Germany’s transition to renewable energy sources Vienna Highlights Include: • Visit to headquarters of OPEC and OFID • Vienna Technical Museum focusing on energy and coal mining • Free time in Vienna to explore Vienna Opera House, Spanish Riding School, Vienna City Park, Stephansdom, Schonbrunn Palace and Gardens Program Dates: *tentative dates • London: May 17th - 23rd • Paris: May 23rd - 26th • Munich: May 27th - 31st • Vienna: June 2nd - 6th RAWLS ABROAD eat. sleep. travel. repeat. 806.742.2041 ~ rawls.cge@ttu.edu ~ rawlsabroad.com
