“This photo is me teaching a class of 2nd graders. (Aren't they adorable?) I attended the
Upward Bound summer program in 2001 - 2003, and like a lot of the other kids there, I
had barely left Northeastern PA either. Growing up, I'd always had an interest in Japan
through Japanese video games and culture. I did a 1-year exchange program in Tokyo
when I was in college, and I loved it so much that I went back to teach English as soon
as I graduated! It's been nearly 6 years, and I'm still in Tokyo and still loving it.”
