Funding of the full-time position could be shared with other grant projects that need more consistent administrative support. What educational programs or institutional purposes does this position support? How does the request relate specifically to your Program Review, the College’s Strategic Plan, and/or Accreditation Recommendations? Since the GDO is part of the President's Office, this position will support all areas across the college. As stated in the GDO Program Review, this position is critical to grants post-award management and will enable the Grants Director to improve the pre- and post- award systems and grants office infrastructure. This position is critical in establishing a centralized grant development office. Where will the individual work? To whom will the person report? Are there any special equipment/facilities needs to be considered? This person will work in the Grant Development Office and report to the Director of Grants. There is a cubicle space outside of her office. What is the consequence of not funding this position? Continued disorganization with grants being implemented in different places across the college. Slow-grant start-up and possible grants compliance issues from limited grants infrastructure and follow-through on procedures. Will also fill gaps in smaller grant programs that need administrative support but don't have funds to fully fund a administrative support position. What alternative approaches have been considered in meeting the programmatic demands of this request? Hiring other Administrative Assistants across the college on an overtime basis through grant funds during grant start-up How will the campus community (students, staff, faculty, and community) be positively impacted by filling this position? Increased service and support from the grants office, more efficient use of college and grants resources, and faster grant start-up and smoother implementation. What other personnel currently provide support to this program and these students?
