Belinda Bain
Gowlings
Belinda Bain is a partner in Gowlings’ Toronto office, practising in the area of
advocacy. Belinda’s practice includes primarily insurance, municipal liability,
professional liability, product liability and employment law matters, including
class actions. Belinda is the co-leader of Gowlings’ Toronto Insurance Group.
She has appeared as counsel at all levels of the Ontario Superior Court and at
the Ontario Court of Appeal, as well as before the Financial Services
Commission of Ontario, the Ministry of Labour and the Ontario Human Rights
Commission.
Nicholas Kluge
Gowlings
Nicholas is a partner in Gowlings’ Toronto office, practising in the area of
commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He has extensive experience as a
trial and appellate lawyer, and as a strategist and creative problem-solver in
complex, multi-party, multi-jurisdictional disputes, working closely with
clients and other counsel in all Canadian provinces, the United States and
internationally. Nicholas has acted as counsel before all levels of provincial
courts in Canada, the federal court and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Nicholas’ areas of expertise include product liability defence, class actions,
financial services and capital markets litigation, including representing
Canadian and multinational corporations in significant consumer, corporate
and commercial litigation.
Douglas Harrison
Stikeman Elliott
Doug Harrison is a partner in Stikeman Elliott's litigation section in Toronto.
His practice is focused primarily in the areas of general corporate-commercial
litigation and arbitration, environmental litigation, product liability, defamation
and insolvency. He has extensive advocacy experience having appeared before
all levels of court in Ontario (including the Commercial Court), the Federal Court
(Trial Division), and various administrative tribunals.
Peter Henein
Cassels Brock
Peter Henein is a partner in the Advocacy Department who practises in the
areas of intellectual property (including copyright and entertainment
matters), product liability and class actions. He works with a wide variety
of clients, ranging from Canadian copyright collectives and trade
associations, film and television producers, certification bodies,
international auto manufacturers and numerous other manufacturers
around the world. Representative examples of Peter’s work include
representing copyright collectives in tariff enforcement proceedings before
the Copyright Board of Canada; and representing television producers in
claims of copyright infringement
