Imran Ahmad Discusses the Potential Expansion of Canada's
National Cyber Threat Centre

Imran Ahmad was quoted in an article titled "Canada's National Cyber Threat Centre Looking to Expand"
published by IT World Canada.
The article looks at the federal government's Canadian Cyber Incident Response Centre (CCIRC)'s expanded
budget "which will help it expand its threat gathering capabilities as well as its threat intelligence services to
Canadian organizations," writes Howard Solomon.
Few on this side of the border think the CCIRC has the vaunted reach of the combined U.S. cyber intelligence
community. Still, many think the centre could share more, including Imran, who notes that one problem is that
there are "many actors" in Canada and believes that a framework is required: “We need a framework where
we realize that government can provide some help, some structure, and they can be catalyst in some respect,
but they don’t have all the solutions."
