Office Hours: 2:00-3:00 pm on Tuesday or by appointment.
Material to be covered: (1) Polynomial Calculus, (2) Chapters 1 through 5 of
Calculus, 9th Edition, D. Varberg, E. J. Purcell and S.E. Rigdon.
Assignments: Homework will be assigned weekly (every Wednesday) and will be
due the following Wednesday. You have to turn in your homework on time. We won’t
accept late homework except illness and family emergency.
Exams:
Midterm 1: 6:00-7:00pm on September 23, Wednesday.
Midterm 2: 6:00-7:00pm on October 26, Monday.
Midterm 3: 6:00-7:00pm on November 16, Monday.
Final exam: 6:00-8:00pm on December 14, Monday.
The lowest score of midterms will be dropped. The 50% of the problems on your
exams will be very similar to your homework assignments. All exams are closed-book.
Any electronic device will not be allowed during the classes and exams.

(30%) Final exam
Free Tutoring: The math department offers free drop-in tutoring. The tutoring center
is located in room 155 of the T. Benny Rushing Mathematics center (adjacent to the
LCB and JWB). The tutoring center will open on Monday, August 31. The tutoring
hours for fall semester are 8 am to 8 pm Monday through Thursday and 8 am to 6 pm
on Friday.
